UCPD - Physical Assessment Skills (Adult) / SDH3045-N / TU Online

£750.00

Description

This module enriches your practice in many ways, greatly enhancing your patient assessments, giving you underpinning knowledge, and improving your confidence and competence when undertaking clinical examinations.

The module comprises five online sessions delivered bi-weekly, with further support via Microsoft Teams / TU Online. Online lectures and skills demonstration videos develop your knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, and your history-taking and examination skills. Formative peer group assessment in practice is strongly encouraged. You are expected to practice the skills you have learned as often as possible.

You are required to identify a practice facilitator for the duration of the module. This will be a clinician or an appropriately skilled practitioner (a doctor, nurse or AHP in a practitioner role) who provides you with supervised practice and will assess your skills for the practice-based component of your assessment.

The module is delivered online with three hour live online support sessions delivered every other week. Learning materials are made available as the module progresses, giving you the flexibility to fit your study around your work and family commitments. Recorded lectures are available, 24/7 and can be viewed repeatedly, and at your convenience. The support sessions are an opportunity to seek clarification on any of the taught areas. Attendance at the live sessions is optional as they are recorded and posted on the support website for those who are unable to attend.

You are provided with a practice workbook which can be used to evidence your skills development. All learning materials will be available on the TU Online site, including example demonstrator videos of the examinations you are expected to learn.
