Draw inspiration from images of industry in the Middlesbrough Collection and make your own vessel or concertina book using rust as your printing medium, in this short course which takes place on Thursday evenings. 

MIMA's Inspired By workshops are an opportunity to learn a new skill and experiment with creative techniques in an informal setting with guidance from experts from the School of Arts & Creative Industries, Teesside University. They take inspiration from artists and artworks in MIMA's artistic programme.

Janice Downs has worked as a Senior Technician Demonstrator in Printmaking, Fine Art at Teesside University for 17 years. Previously she worked at the Northern School of Art and Middlesbrough College in Art and Design and Textiles. Her practice is predominantly based in printmaking and her subject matter of late has concentrated on the red list – a list of endangered birds in the UK.
